FAQs

1.What is Chakradance?

Chakradance is a healing dance practice. We open our bodies to release the stuck energy that no longer serves us. Think of it as a 'dynamic moving meditation to music' specific music, guided imagery and your own free, improvised dance, done in a dim lite space with your eyes softly closed. This begins to activate inner experiences. We store memory energy within chakras and old memories often surface during the dance. Trust, let go and let the dance lead you to where you need to go.

2.Are the steps to Chakradance difficult to learn?

There are no steps to learn. There is no right or wrong way to move your body. It’s a journey of self-discovery.

3.Do I need to be physically fit?

It's a form of exercise for your whole being, not just for your body. People can benefit from Chakradance even if they are physically unfit. You just need to know your own physical limitations respect them, and dance within them.

4.Can I do one class before to see if I like it?

Participants can experience an introduction class before committing to a whole cycle or series. The healing effect is greater, though, if all seven chakras are explored in depth, and we therefore recommend dancing through a whole cycle or series.

5.What happens if I miss a class?

If you need for personal reasons to miss a class or pull out of the course before completion, we will hold a place for you in the following term.

6.Do I need to know what a Chakra is?

It really doesn’t matter if you don’t know anything about the chakras. We provide information about the chakras throughout the classes and workshops, Chakradance is all about experiencing your chakras. The classes will provide you with an embodied understanding of the chakra system, and you will learn to work with your chakras in practical ways.

7.What type of clothing is needed?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. We usually dance in bare feet. And remember to bring a bottle of water.
